Well, first of all, it is Greek. There are many of those floating on e-bay and dated 1821 which is a year of Greek Independence. Those are openly touristy.
This one may be real (at least the blade), although the pics may be misleading. Overall, i would not bid on it, that's for sure! |

HAllo, it is completed new (ie of the last 20 years or so) including the blade.
A classical of the tourist trade. In the blade is written on one side Yianina 1819. Yanina is the capital of Epirus in North Greece near Albanian borders famous for centuries as a center of crafts and silverwork. These kind of daggers are purely fantasy daggers as they are not copy of any originals. These daggers never existed! Most of them have the date 1821 because is the date of the Greek revolution, but some others have a less obvious date as this! On the other side the inscription says "...i have to fight" |
