Yes, I have seen ones with a scabbard like you have described. I have even seen one set that had a scabbard that fanned out like a peacocks tail that held multiple knives.

Ah okay, thanks for the info...I'd like to see one of these peacock scabbards...I guess even with utensils, the Indians can't help but to go a little over the top with design sometimes.
