it's quite a fascinating phenomenon that some keris can stand on the pointed end whereas the centre of gravity is logically quite far up at the hilt I'd guess.

Any scientific explanation for this anyone?

Wink The Incredible Magickal Standing Keris

A parlor trick IMO; akin to building a house of cards .
Make it stand without the scabbard on a piece of glass and I will be impressed .

I'm not sure a scientific explanation is really necessary. It's just a matter of balance and creating a triangulation of surface contact with the floor/table, blade and sheath. As Rick points out, balancing a keris without the sheath on a hard and impenetrable surface such as glass would be something to be more impressed by.
