...IMHO good presentation by the seller helped out a lot, too. i remember there was an ivory hilted kris that came out about 6 or so month ago, and it 'only' went for $750.00...

still shaking my head on the other kris, tho...

Oh yes, the pictures are very important. They can make good pieces look dull, or make mediocre pieces look like a thousand.

But sometimes, we pray for bad pictures because then, experience comes into play and there is usually less competition. But of course, even experienced collectors get tripped sometimes.

Battara, how much did you pay for it? The way that ivory kris auction closed, I'm beginning to feel there's one really lucky forumite who got this blade from me off ebay a few months back ...
