Fantastic looking Naga knife with brass grip. What is the purpose of this odd grip configuration and the particular shape of blade?

THERE ARE 3 OLD POSTS WITH INFO ON THE BRASS HANDLED KNIFE BUT I CAN'T GET THE LINKS TO TRANSFER TO THIS POST. A SEARCH OF KUKI WILL BRING THEM ALL UP
