Museums and buying antiques in Lisbon

I have been twice in Museu do Oriente; their basic collection doesn't include weapons.
The exhibition they are now showing is generaly about 'jewels' of the India route. No more than twelve weapons ( from Sri Lanka, India ...) belonging in the collection of Dr. Jorge Caravana are present, naturaly those more luxury ones decorated with gems, gold and silver, namely the Kastane in the poster,as have confirmed with himself. A very selective area

Thank you so much for the tips... My visa is underway and I hope to get it in the next two-three weeks. I hope to see all the places that you have mentioned. since I have never been to Lisbon before I hope and intend to make the best of my visit...

hello All,

I landed in Lisbon noon yesterday and headed straight to the Military Museum from the airport.

what a treat to the eye...!!!! One of the best kept museums I've seen in the recent times and wow what a collection of cannons...!!!!

The only thing sad was there was no information available or any catalogues in English....!!! also no souvenirs around the great arms collections...!!!

I simply felt in love with the place though for the grand collection...!!!

A special thanks to Fernando....!!! If I had missed this - I'd have regretted it for life...!!!!

i do not know in Portugal if there is antique arms or weapons or gun shows or collectors meetings but maybe somebody could recommend you this if there is nay during the time of your stay?

They had a shop in the cannon yard, with coffee, souvenirs and publications (also in english i think) but this space is closed for already some time; i ignore the reason
