It appears that the flower shaped cartouche (later, common Syrian addition) covers an older one? such a shame.
Boy!!!. I've owned this sword for almost twenty years and until it was pointed out, I didn't realize that this cartouche covered another earlier one. What can I do to get better images of this inscription?..........Dave.
