Thank you for the interest. Before deciding to go for this item, going on the seller measurements !6.5 inches x 2 inches. I looked for something comparable in my collection. This AUS Aborigine club 18.25 inches x 2 inches which is very nice in the hand and plenty big enough for an effective weapon. So I have my fingers crossed on the sellers description. Style wise all would seem okay. It would not have to be early as in 19th century to be the real thing, so to speak. The hole possibly had a nail or even a smaller spear point in it? There is not enough wear at the hole even though blacked to be part of fire making kit. I just have to wait and hope. It is short but must have been made from a big animal.
