Palembang for comment

Keris worongko from Palembang.

The kemuning wood is newly made, palembang style.
The ebony is old, just given general cleaning.
Any comments if the ebony style also from Palembang?
Is it just different carver style or other areas from Sumatra?

I hope, members with more knowledge on Sumatran styles will respond, yet I suppose, the old wrongko comes more from direction Minangkabau.

The new wrongko is well done, wood grain is nice, at least on front side.

Could you please show us more detailed pictures of the sampir, blade, hilt, and sheath buntut of the old kris?

The blade was rusty and neglected by previous owner

Thank you Rasjid, IMO the nice blade with ganja ira seems either from South Sumatra or Northern Java, and the JD hilt with the slim waist is from Northern Java. Please also show us the bottom part of the gandar (buntut or not?). Other opinions are welcome!

This hilt also shown on my other thread on Cirebon hilt.

There is no buntut on the gandar, just straight plain and tappered on the front side like south sumatra gandar. Sorry this is what I have at the moment. (Travelling)

Thanks Rasjid, then I would not classify the sheath as Minangkabau but rather modern South Sumatra, any other opinion?
