Nice piece Spunjer, and great description....maybe you should announce for a modeling runway!
Interesting piece. What period would you date it to?? The blade seems like an older style. Do you think the silver work is original and born with the hilt, or a later addition?? I wouldn't worry about the hair(like I don't ![]() |

charles, i don't see anything to suggest that it the silver ornaments were added after. IMHO, it was born together. agewise; not too keen about kampilans, but i would guess it to be around late 1800's
