Aurangzeb, in this case the seller is one of the respected forum members here, and I personally have no reason to doubt his judgement. Of course, it is always great to know not only where a certain piece is attributed to, but also why there exactly.
Regards,
Teodor

I am not implying any malicious intent; just interested whether there are specific distinctions between Tunisian and, say, Libyan daggers.

This is great, this means that I don't have to beat my brains out trying to find where it came from. This is wonderful news that it is Tunisian and that the seller is a forum member so I can trust their judgement! I hope he will notice this tread and say why it is Tunisian.

Hi Aurangzeb,

If you could post some better photos of that Gaucho's knife, including its blade length and details of any brand or logo, I may be able to dig up something on it.

Cheers
Chris

Default It was bought from Tunisia!

Dear forum members,
Maybe i should reply regarding this dagger. It is not a matter of judgment, and i certainly do not think that state something as a "tunisian" gives more value. It is simple where it was bought from (in the 70s ) by the guy that gave it to me!
By the way, i am currently overseas and i didnt manage to send the package yet! Please be a little patient!
Regards to all!

Hello Eftihis!

That clears that up, I wish all the daggers I bought had that kind of certanty from where thaey came from! I have a great deal of patience Eftihis, thankfully you told me your overseas there where some sellers I bought from who never told me anything. Thanks for informing me of where the Tunisian dagger came from and that you are overseas.

Mark...

P.S.-Is the Tunisian dagger 19th. century?
