Hi Napoleon. I've seen a few pulwars and numerous tulwars, both personally and in books. But I've never seen this groove in the spine. I suppose it's just decorative?

Rick, Im really glad I could help, and of course I dont mind your using my comments
actually I do the same thing from many of the informative posts here and keep updating my notes. Here we're all learning together and its great when items or questions are posted as I get to research and learn, than add what I can to the thread. The paluoar is an intriguing and handsome sabre and these have some fascinating history, yours is a beauty!
