I had a pair of these a while ago - I was puzzled myself - they seemed to have a very Anglo-Indian feel about them.
I sold them before taking pictures - schoolboy error. But you are right, mine were both full crescent heads, so this looks to have been re-shaped probably because of some damage. Nonetheless, they were great little axes, and felt quite good in the hand. I think a small axe sometimes makes sense, since the same force you may use with a large axe is obviously greater when the point of impact is smaller.....you know what I mean....!! Runjeet |

I think perhaps it is a sugar hatchet. Quite lovely though.
