Hello Detlef, the wire that is on it now is the original single strand silver wire. The missing wire, the one that I am going to replace is made of two silver wires twisted together.

I LIKE IT. THE GAURD IS DIFFERENT THAN WHAT I USUALLY SEE AND APPEARS TO REPRESENT TWO CHRISTIAN CROSSES. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR RESTORATION.
