interesting Katar for comment

Here is a close up I think I can make out some type of wootz or pattern welded lamination? Oops the photo is low res I will try to update it tomorrow.

Hi Lew,
It's an interesting katar/jamdahar you got.
Ariel and Jim are of course right both when it comes to the name and the place of origin.
If the blade is of wootz, it would not surprise me if the rest of the katar is as well. Nice find congratulations
