				 | Contemporary keris

posting this one for light discussion ... and I'm also curious about the comment from you all about this keris this is real one, and not "keris - like object" ... only this one got some "modern touch" in it I bought it simply because it was interesting and may look nice on my desk. I believe this was once an older blade - perhaps not a good one, retouched, carved and plated with 18K gold (what a waste of gold ) the result is a rather fragile work of art, but looked nice bought it without dress, as the original dress that comes with this keris costs USD 350 (dress only), so I bought the blade only ... and only managed to fit a cheapo dress for now - doesnot matter, as I plan to display it in acrylic case without the sheath description : 1. Luk 7 keris 2. dhapur : kelabang sayuto (a million centipede) and I am not mistaken, this is the dhapur, NOT the pamor 3. tangguh : ?? 4. pamor : ngulit semangka / wos wutah (rather hard to discern) 5. nickname : devil's comb enjoy |

that's why I said that I plan to use it as a decoration, away from my other keris collection anyhow, the best part is you can literally see the metal construction of keris and how pamor is layered, since the maker carved away cross section of the blade, so on other hand it is a nice study piece |

I myself still prefer old keris, tangguh, wutuh, sepuh ... this particular one is just an object of curiosity (and a waste of gold) thank you, anyhow | |
