My little blade collection

Hello Ash, BETTER TO HAVE A SMALL COLLECTION OF GOOD QUALITY ITEMS (as yours), THAN A BIG COLLECTION OF . . . ."STUFF" (lets call it)!

I also like that small sweet mandau. The handle is slight crudely carved but the rest makes it up so nicely; neat scabbard, great condition beaded cord, differently carved sideknife ('pisau'?).
That African knife with the ivory handle is also quite stunning.

Most guys/collectors I know buy firstly a whole bunch of less quality and fake items to sell them together in a later stadium for a loss and buy just one or two quality items. Better to start like you do!!

this is true, but it's the beginning ... of the expertise

no one hasn't been a fount of knowledge,
without to have multiplied errors, and corrected his errors ...

Nice little collection!
Your first african sword is from the Ngbandi - Ngombe or Doko tribe.
Your Mangbetu trumbash knife is very nice!

Yes Dom, you are wright; One DOES need to know how (good) the (latest) fakes look like, as 'who hasnt been fooled by a fake'!!

Nope, It will getting only worse. And if the Mrs. isn't in a mood of agreement it can become very very bad for your health.

Just whistle and unpack your new toys when she is sleeping or shopping.

Hello Ash,

no junk, all authentic weapons!! I like the Mangbetu, good natural patina on the ivory handle. If you look around you can still find bargains for collecting weapons for central africa.
