Hello Ash, BETTER TO HAVE A SMALL COLLECTION OF GOOD QUALITY ITEMS (as yours), THAN A BIG COLLECTION OF . . . ."STUFF" (lets call it)!
I also like that small sweet mandau. The handle is slight crudely carved but the rest makes it up so nicely; neat scabbard, great condition beaded cord, differently carved sideknife ('pisau'?). That African knife with the ivory handle is also quite stunning. Most guys/collectors I know buy firstly a whole bunch of less quality and fake items to sell them together in a later stadium for a loss and buy just one or two quality items. Better to start like you do!! Thanks for sharing. |

Nice little collection!
Your first african sword is from the Ngbandi - Ngombe or Doko tribe. Your Mangbetu trumbash knife is very nice! |

Hello Ash,
no junk, all authentic weapons!! I like the Mangbetu, good natural patina on the ivory handle. If you look around you can still find bargains for collecting weapons for central africa. yours, Carlo |
