Bugis or Sunda?

Hello Amuk,

thank you for comment. Sadly there is no scabbard but the handle is hollow, look picture 5. The sword is around 57 cm long with a blade from 42,5 cm.

Thanks, I did see the hollow. I was merely making an assertion.The length is OK for both a golok pandjang or a pedang.
Is the blade laminated in stripes?

Just stumbled upon this thread and somehow I missed it before.
To give an answer to your question, it is indeed Sundanese.
I think the best thing to call this is a "gobang" for now, as there is no other name for it found in old articles nor museumcollections.

yes, it is very old but I can't get a real "feeling" to it, so it was sold.

Still think that the "very fine and complete one" is from Sulawesi.
