Here some more pictures, sorry for quality, it is a very bad light here in Germany at the moment.
Have carefully cleaned the blade and the brass rings in front, need to be polished in the back. Any statements for the age? |

It's a beauty Detlef!Even better than I thought, horn hilt, what luck. Iron guard, a sturdy material for a war-sword then? I agree with you that WW2 would be a 'latest' date, I'd guess at a date of between the wars. Lovely piece, well done on the buff-up, looks great. Best Gene |

thank you! Yes, this sword would be ideal for fighting. When I compare it with my other tenegre (http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...hlight=tenegre) which was estimated between 1920-1945 I think that this one now is older, turn of the century would be my guess. But I am not an expert so it would be nice to read some other opinions.Regards, Detlef |

My congratulation on your acquiring this beautiful tenegre Detlef !!! The heavy steel guard and horn hilt are most impressive and help set this piece apart from the ones with the thin brass guards and wooden hilts. All in all a very well made warriors sword that I think would date to the first quarter of the 20th century. Again, my congratulation to you on being able to add this fine item to your collection.
