I'm not sure what you mean by "factory" made.
I suspect that with a warangan treatment you will discover that the second blade has a very nice pamor wengkon pattern. Looks like a nice keris to me. ![]() ![]() |

Harvey,
This is approximately how your thick blade should look like after warangan treatment. A sheath in East Java or Central Java style would be convenient. Regards |

PenangsangII, i didn't expected it was a good wilah, if it is, for sure i make a new sheath for it.
David, i bought this wilah from a picture, to me was told it was gonjo iras, but it wasn't, and the tikel alis(Ithink thats the name of the comma?) looks like it's done with a dremel, and the overall appearance seems to be to neat/tight. And on top of the gonjo there is some kind of a marking, 3 lines in a V shape, but i see that i judged to quickly. Jean, that is a beautiful keris, i have once tried to wash mine, but with no good result so i cleaned it, i hope when i get it right it looks somehow like yours. And the one on top guys, or is that impossible to tell from a picture? I also have this sheath, and i don't know where it's coming from. Thanks for your answers! regards, Ben Last edited by Harley; 3rd January 2012 at 12:21 PM. |

Harley, I'm only going to endorse what has already been said:- both blades are old, both are well worth the effort of redressing.
However, in my opinion, neither are worth putting a lot of money into. If I had these blades they would be dressed in Solo gayaman. |

Thanks Detlef, I also like the sheath, but i doubt if i have or can find a Cirebon wilah.
Mr Maisey, thanks for your answer, i am gonna dress them in a solo gayaman, for now it's my only choice because i don't have thicker wood to make a ladrang sheath. Can i put the next 2 wilah's in this topic or shall i make a new topic? regards, Ben |

The sheath & hilt of my kris were made quite recently (not later than 1995) but by a master craftsman indeed. Regarding the blade, the dapur is not Tilam Upih but Brojol (no tikel alis), it is not a fantastic piece but a strong one with some age. Regards |
