Hi Gene,

another fine and interesting addition to your collection. Agree with Maurice and Jose to let the scabbard alone. The form of the scabbard remind to some keris sheaths from northern regions of Sumatra. When I am you I would leave it like this. I only would try to etch it to see if there is a lamination.

Hi Detlef,

It came with the collection of items, of which many seem to have a direct or possible Sumatran attribution.
However, there was another possible Filipino dagger with a heavy wavy blade.

I'll do as you chaps say and leave the scabbard on this one then. A buff with a soft cloth only perhaps?
