I have had the silver hilted one for quite some time, and "Yes" the silver is very good quality by the looks of it.
Attached is a better pic showing the fullers, after some initial cleaning, and it just COULD be worth etching when I get some time, as there appears to be a hint of lamination showing.
Lew, have you ever seen this style of dagger with a back knife? Any I have seen have always been the J shape.
