fearn Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,247	I think they're stylized faces, or in the case of the New Hebrides model, two faces in a Janus configuration. The interesting thing with these mallets is that you hit with the beard. There may be some symbolism there. (or not). Best, F
