Thanks chaps, one could say that i am not poleaxed by the answers. I knew as soon as i saw it. it was wrong. a poleaxe is a killing weapon yet this had as much killing power as a coat hook. I am all sure you all get that feeling when you have a real weapon to hand, some how they just talk to you. And no i am not mad.

Just to update, this item was send back to the auction house and a full refund given. don,t think I will be buying anything not seen with my own eyes first for a long time, michael
