I too at first glance was thinking Northern Borneo. Very nice. That scabbard throat however throws me. Never saw one like that before. Interesting.

I expect that the scabbard is newer than the sword .
There is a nice old patina on this one . Too bad the blade was over cleaned, it clashes with the mellowness of the wood . |

Rick you are right on both counts. The whole scabbard is made of narra wood, but the bottom half seems to have more natural patina than the top, unless that patina was heavily worn away for some odd reason.
The blade does need to be etched too. |
