So now it appears that the scabbard was made in Bandoeng very shortly before the surrender to the Japanese on 08/03/42.(As you well know, it would've been difficult for it to have come from the Netherlands as it was under occupation 15/05/40 - 08/05/45.) I can imagine many of us would think the N stand for 'Nederland'. While searching in the book i expected something like that too .You can be very sure the scabbard wasn't made here in the Netherlands in that period. I don't think Hitler and his gang would be amused by such productivity .
