Yes, Battara,
I hope I can do as Michel and Rasjid did, take photos of the Tropenmuseum collections soon... Hoping too, that the Knaud kris is still exhibited there |

Thanks, David,
I found interesting story on this interesting Charles Knaud's kris... The images of "wayang" in the bottom part of the blade reminds me to some reliefs of Sukuh and Cetho temples in the eastern part of Solo, Central Java. The specific wayang reliefs dated back to the end of Majapahit era... On Sukuh Temple or Candi Sukuh http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candi_Sukuh On Sukuh Reliefs http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candi_Sukuh On Cetho Temple of Candi Cetho http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candi_Cetho On Tantric Buddhism influence http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vajraya...Southeast_Asia On Knaud kris as David just posted http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...86046-1%29.jpg GANJAWULUNG Last edited by ganjawulung; 15th August 2010 at 01:59 PM. |
