Very interesting...thanks for sharing...not that these are designed to be fakes, but I'm sure somebody will try to pass them off as antiquities...I know I was just looking at a auction online from which has several new antique Chinese jade carvings and "ancient" bronze Chinese swords...ridiculous...

The sleeping giant woke up! There is already a sudden abundance of tulwar hilts and katars on e-bay.
Chinese fakers started similarly: with very careful avoidance of the "old", "antique" etc labels, by now they are in full swing. Expect genuine swords of Tipu Sultan, Shivaji and Babur for $49.95 to hit the market in the near future. Some even with autographs. BTW, if you go on the seller's site, check out the Bagh Nagkh: true academic masterpiece:-) |

there are a ridiculously large number of people selling newly rusted fake tulwars on ebay and other sites. beware, dont get bitten.
