Ian,

What an interesting surprise! Had I seen this anywhere else I would immediately have assumed it was from the Philippines! It seems so both by blade and hilt.

I am sure are already aware that the keris form is widely regarded to have originated in India many many centuries ago, so this may be a look at its much later descendant.
