Hello Jose, It is quite different from what I have seen too. I think it is a piece that was re-purposed off of some other item possibly a chair leg or some other piece of furniture. It reminds me of one of the other daggers I have (picture below) where thimbles were used for the ferrule and end-cap. Like the old saying goes, Waste not want not.
