'nother clubby whotsit?

picked this up for a number of pennies less than a pound.
again, estate sale, no size info. will post more & better photo when it arrives

any ideas or info appreciated, thanks. listed as a 'possible exercise or juggling club, tho the grip end does not haven the usual ridge to keep your hand from slipping, the lack made me think it would work better for throwing... whatever it is, if you throw or whack someone with it , it''ll ruin their day.
