Hello dear members,
recently I purchased two badiks for my collection. Here are the first one. Would like to know if I am correct that this one is a javanese one. In the book from Albert G. van Zonneveld the examples with a more elongated handle are described as javanese badiks. Handle is from horn and the metal is german silver. Detlef |

I don't know why it was given such a prominence for the date but it seems that it was very usual by this time to date the scabbard since I have a second example from the same time where the date have a similar dating on but here in down of the scabbard. On the scabbard of my one there is the date, but also some writings I can't read. Any help is welcome.
