Add-on of my badik collection

Hello dear members,

recently I purchased two badiks for my collection. Here are the first one. Would like to know if I am correct that this one is a javanese one. In the book from Albert G. van Zonneveld the examples with a more elongated handle are described as javanese badiks. Handle is from horn and the metal is german silver.

Here is the second one, a fine example with silver mounts, dated 29. April 1939.

All comments are appreciated,

Hi Gene,

thank you for comment. I don't know why it was given such a prominence for the date but it seems that it was very usual by this time to date the scabbard since I have a second example from the same time where the date have a similar dating on but here in down of the scabbard.

This last one is more my favorite - the quality of silver work is better.

Hello Jose,

yes of course, the quality of the silver work is much better and also the grip from hippo ivory. This is the best example in my collection. :) But the new one isn't bad and i love this little daggers and they look much better in a small group than a lonely one!:D
