I came up with 1902 ad ; but I'm just not sure . |

About the best I can get for now Jens .
I believe the date is along the bottom of the stamping .

Hi Rick, thanks for the better picture, what I see is 1231, which will mean 1816 AD – or around that time.
What is shown over the year? It looks strange, and how about the whole blade. |

Hi Jens , thanks ! This is the Afghan sabre and I believe the stamp is supposed to represent the Blue Mosque at Mazar I Sharif . The date seems a little early though .
