I sent multiple (8) Filipino edged weapons to Macao for the History of Steel exhibit at their museum of art. This stuff comes in several diameters and is just about bombproof. The inner tube is smooth and the outer tube is a separate piece which is bonded to the inner core. The material is much tougher than PVC pipe.
Shipped to the far side of the world and back with no damage at all.
I had 4 swords in each container
It does not bend, crush or break.
