So he is actually a deity if i interpreted it correctly. My Balinese pal gave a wrong representation as he called it a demon. Maybe the fangs. Either way, this figure reminds me of my childhood...

You are very right, I even witnessed a Madura made Javanese keris with Beethoven motif on it. Kind of upset me thou. And many bad traders try to pass off a modern made keris as an antique.

I was told that upper class of this weapon is where pommels are made of ivory, silver or other exotic materials with handles wrapped in silver or gold alloy. Pommels before 19th century were small.

I showed it to my good friend and he advised it is not ivory, could be a long bone sliced on the very side of the animal, Looks warangka might be made of animal bone.

I was thinking if the warangka could be moose antler. There are already Balinese craftsmen using moose antler for warangka. I kept some moose antler material made Balinese hulu.
