Small Ottoman (?) iron buckler

This is an iron buckler 27,5cm in diameter, it looks like an original from 16th-17th century. What is your opinion for its origin? It was described as "ottoman" in the auction where i bought it.

European arms were regarded superior than localy made in the balkans. So local smiths when they made a lock or a barrel, put latin letters in it so that it looks like coming from a european factory....
