OK

I know

AJ1356 28th November 2011 11:55 AM

can you take a picture just like the first, but tilt it to the right. It would make reading the makers name much easier.

Hi ... here we are :D

tks for the nice pic of your "shashka" real beautiful one

partially translated, because:

- At least, a name, "Asman" (? ... random translation) it's not an Arabic name,
should be the name from a janissary,
the title also associated "Ara" is a Turkish military rank

- the central part, is too vague, not enough contrast to read something

any way, here what we got
- SAHEB ASMAN(?) ARA either OWNER ASMAN(?) ARA
- AMAL MOHAMED ... ???? either MADE BY MOHAMED .... ????

why didn't present you, i.e.;
from where you are ?,
what is your field of investigations, and collections
and may be add some pictures ? :D

it's pleasant to know with who, we are exchanging :p

all the best and regards

A good and interesting sabre

A good and interesting sabre. I watched this earlier this year on Ebay but I think it was bought privately from memory, congrats.
Could you please also show the detail of the boat on the pommel and the letters within its sail.
Also a detailed image of the letters hidden under the silver where the hilt joins the blade.
