BOOK ON PHILIPPINE WEAPONS?

Hello guys, could you indicate me some good books on MORO WEAPONS? and where i can find them? Thank you very much :)

Outside of articles, there really aren't any books on Moro weaponry, except one: Moro Swords by Cato, the only one in existence so far, and it is out of print, thus pricey. :(

I haven't seen it for sale recently, but a seller from the Philippines was offering copies of Moro Swords on a regular basis though eBay for about the price they sold for when in print plus shipping from PI. Curiously, he seemed to get one bid or so per auction. The market must be close to saturated :)

Other sources of information are Stone's Glossary, which among the jillion other items has images of all the types, even a bangkung under "klewang".

Krieger's "Primitive Weapons and Armor of the Philippine Islands", whose photographic plates are posted on the EEWRS here:

Federico's excellent site, also linked to from EEWRS is here:

Mabagani's site has examples of excellent quality:

The archives of this forum, including the older UBB and WWWBoard incarnations, offer a wealth of information plus photographs of published weapons or examples that are very rare or very high end. A lot of great information is posted here.

Good luck.

Thank you very much Montoro :)

Excuse the dead links and outdated info in my old site, it was done a few years ago when I was helping groups with research, it was a place to post images. I need to find another host server that could hold more photos, I maxed out this sites capacity and abandoned it.

Well, the first copies sold for pretty steep amounts and it took months for the price to come down a lot. The more savy of us were sitting on our hands and waiting for a snipe on the starting price... :p

Apparently there are still some copies available - send me a PM if interested.
(I've no relations with the seller - just want to give fellow forumites a helping hand.)

Regards,
Kai
