Hi all, sorry for another random object thread! Don't really know why I bought this today, couldn't find anything else I liked and then I saw this!
Anyone know what it is or where its from? Supposedly has some age to it.
Its about 18" tall.

Hi Gene,
I have seen a similar style before....I think African....but can't remember tribe/region....I'll have to 'think on it'.....Hopefully someone like Tim could be more definate.

Cheers mate,

I really quite liked the masks with the big 'beaks'!
The Mrs hates it! LOL

This is typically SEPIK / Papua New Guinee.

I am not sure what kind of statue this is and if it is a original / traditional object. But the style of the faces is sepik.

Best regards,
Willem

Well.... not entirely international.

My Mrs. is quite fond of Sepik art. She has a mask and a little statue and a yam mask.

There are exceptions, indeed. I must admit that a few of our members are lucky with such a Mrs. Keep admire her and bring flowers!! :)

For the other 99% of the forummembers: it is international. :D

Hello,
have to agree with Willem, it's a Sepik carving. Carefully worded I would guess it's a recent carving. Old ones more basic.
Happy that I belong like Willem to the 1%! :D :D
