Are these weapons

Could anyone tell me if these items are actually weapons

First item is made of long grained fairly hard wood 30 inches long with what looks like a bit of snake skin in the centre.

Second item is 52 1/2 inches long with brass fittings and a metal end at the bottom. Red paint is new.
This is a wooden item, There is no blade inside this.

Hi,
the first is possibly a 'dance' or ceremonial spear. The second looks like a scabbard (Saya ??) with Japanese, or possibly Chinese fittings. All I can think of is that the metal 'end piece' has a 'blade-shaped' attachment that is fixed inside the scabbard..... to form some sort of club :shrug: Or some sort of staff made from discarded WW2 Japanese scabbards (the fittings look similar to that period) , have you any history to this item

Hi, I don't know about the first item but the second item is the shaft for a naginata, a Japanese pole arm. The "axe" shaped shoe is usual on a naginata shaft as is the oval cross section, pity the blade is missing.... :D

The second one is obviously japanese polearm pole. Probably for naginata as lemmythesmith noted. Let me know if it is for sale, I have a nice naginata blade to fit in that pole.

The first one looks like a bow :shrug:

The second item is obviously what you said a Niginato handle
I am posting more pictures of this in the hope that someone may be able to
give me some idea of it's age
The gold scrolling on it is actually under the black paint

The top piece looks very like a South American object to me, Brazil or Guyana. That black palm type wood is met with there, along with the shape and style indicating South American Indian.
