Pulwar or poulouar ?

Hi all,
I noted that there are, at least, two kinds of pulouar (or pulwar ?) hilts. One is on this recent threat http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4244&highlight=pulwar
I have another type. Can You explain to me the difference ?
About my one, a curiosity, inside the pierced pommel there are some pieces (I can’t glimpse) that shaking the sword makes noise (is it usual ?) and a question : do You think that the blade was in keeping with the hilt ?

Nice piece. blade is correct. Afghan pieces have 3 types of blades on them. Indian,persian, or once in a while locally made blades. Those are seeds that rattle around and my understanding is originally all had them in the basket. chiselling and pierced work goes from none on these hilts to extreamly intricate.

Is that not a European sabre blade? It looks a lot like it, with the deeply ground fuller.

the groove lines do not seem quite straight enougth for that but I could be wrong. European blade would stilll be correct just not the norm. Is there any lamination on blade can't tell from pics.

The blade doesn't look laminated.

Stefan of Ashoka arts says that the blade is probably of the British 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Sword.
