Scabbard looks similar to a British cavalry type and missing the mouth, still has value.Would be interested in seeing a closeup of the scabbard drag as it doesn't quite match 1821, 1853p drags.

Norman I've owned two 1821p LC troopers by Sargant , identical to the Osborn pictured with washer and tang peened over it. Also marked A/4. Both had 33 inch blades and were for the American market.

Kukri dated 1945 marked "HW"

I have not been able to make photos attach. The Kukri is a WW2 army and is marked on the leather scabbard. However the ricasso has a marking I don't know of, a "HW" however most likely not Wilkinson...

Thanks Corrado the pommel and peen match my sword exactly. Great to know that it's a Prussian sword, I don't like the "Continental" label that says not known. Looks impressive with its brass scabbard.

I agree with Lee. It's always difficult to be 100% without having it in hand. The blade fullering resembles a British blade but is not. Very nice sword!

The pommel nut could have been added at a much later date due to disassembly for cleaning etc. The pommel, guard and blade appear to be professionally made and in my opinion has good age to them....

Just cut the blade hole to a shorter length, the leather will stretch over the blade and then slip under the blade shoulders....
