I have a similar one, dated 1810, with reference to sultan Muhammad al-Fadl, who indeed reigned between ca. 1801 and 1838.

The pole is a simple wooden stick, I guess same age as the scabbard. I’ll make a picture tomorrow in daylight. The methuk doesn’t seem to be a separate piece.

I bought this tombak spearhead out of curiosity (29 cm).
Was mounted on a simple wooden stick (total length ca. 150 cm).

Not my region of interest, but I did some homework.
Could be Javanese?...

Mahdist sword calligraphy

I recently bought this Mahdist blade, cheap and rather out of interest.

Blade measures 70cm, forged but is rather weak.
But than again, these were not used to fight but serve a talismanic...

Did you check the handle/translucency? Could be rhino..
Gold inlay, often verses of the Quran or poetry, probably done later (Syria?).
