Default Another Batak Sword

I believe this is a Kalasan from the Karo Batak.

25" OAL in scabbard. 63.5 cm
17 3/4" Blade 45 cm
1" Wide Blade 2.54 cm
3/8" Thick Blade 9.5 mm

Horn handle. Copper and silver fittings.

Certainly looks like it.

What book is the picture from ? It looks as though it is something I need to get hold of.

I am not sure from which book this picture is.
But I have it too and got it from mandaukudi's website : www.mytribalworld.com
He has regular free downloads of interesting old articles on weapons.

The illustration is from:
Volz, W. Nord-Sumatra. Band I + II, Berlin 1909 + 1912, Dietrich Reimer (Ernst Vohsen)
There are a few pages with illustrations of swords and knives, all of the same quality as the illustration above.
