A VERY NICE AND ATTRACTIVE EXAMPLE, CAN'T ADD MUCH EXCEPT THAT THE POMMEL IS SAID TO REPRESENT A HORSE HEAD ,TRUE OR NOT CONGRADULATIONS ON A NICE SWORD

Congrats, Carlos!
Yes, indeed a Rugi from Alor. I'm not sure where the reference to North Sulawesi is coming from, Albert? The carving and rattan work looks genuine - maybe early 20th century or turn of century? Could you please provide a pic of the face of the bells? Do you plan to clean the blade, Carlos? Regards, Kai |

Hello Carlos,
Please post some better pics of your sword! Hilt made from wood with iron ferrule? There seems to some relationship with the 2 unusual examples discussed in this thread: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=13524 Regards, Kai |
