Default Another puzzling marking on a Balkan weapon

The last blade marking I posted in the yataghans origins thread generated some interesting discussion. Here is another one, with not that ancient of an origin at all. It is in the base of a kilij blade, and to me one side looks like skull, and the other one has the latin letters "KULL". The kilij is not mine, and the person to whom this kilij belongs does not want to show pictures of the entire sword or the blade, so please do not ask - I want to see it just as much as you do, but this is impossible at the moment.
My question is, has someone seen the same or similar mark elsewhere?
Thanks,
Teodor

Once there were King Kull comics. Was the king of Atlantis as far as I remember. Perhaps his royal kilij?

It would probably come as a relief to everyone then that this sword is not going to be sold any time soon. EBay stories aside therefore, has anyone seen the marking (outside of a comic book)?

Hi Teodor,

I think I know who the maker is, but, without seeing the entire blade i would be hesitant to state it without all the information. Show me yours and I will show you mine .

All the best
Jeff

You'd better use private messages to do that.

Thanks Jeff,

I will try to obtain a picture of the whole blade, and as soon as (and if) I do, I will post it here.

Regards,

Teodor

Thank you Stephen - I have thought of Peter Kull and my best guess would have been him. However, the owner claims this is a kilidj blade, and also that it is pattern welded - I have been unable to confirm either, as the pictures posted here is all I have seen.

Regards,
Teodor
