Salaams weapons 27; I am sure someone will come up with the translation... There are often Farsi speakers wandering by here..I will try to find out. I'm sure it would be interesting to know what it says but for me I always look at the amazing artistic balance in these scripts and the way calligraphy developed in the East... much like early English calligraphy. I actually started a thread on calligraphy but it got lost in the library after it dropped off the radar on favourites. I wonder if your dagger illustrates a famous saying from literature or religion or some words of favour about the ruler at the time? Perhaps poetry from the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam??...What is fairly certain is the typical Qajari decoration of the hunting scene..Nice exhibit... thanks.
