Default No too sure about this one

I'm not sure what this is or where it belongs, but I kind of feel that this is the right place; if not feel free to move it.
A possible guess is a retired Indonesian spearhead; another guess is someone's fence post top. It is sharp on the top edges.

Well Drak, i'm not too sure about this one either beyond that it doesn't belong here, so i will transfer it to Ethno.
But frankly i have never seen a tombak like this and cannot speak to it's authenticity at all. Hopefully someone can identify this form.

Default Fence Finial?

drac2k,

To me, the blade looks like an iron fence finial. That notwithstanding, it probably would work nicely as a push dagger if sharpened.

Sincerely,
RobT

Talking

Possibly sourced from a colonial fence, indeed.

Quite likely from Java, I'd guess.

Default Sharper Than Steel

Hi All,

The dagger blade appears to be one of the many fleur de lis iron fence finial variants. When you think about it, cast iron is harder and can take a keener edge than steel. The increased brittlely of cast iron is irrelevant in this context due to the thickness of the blade and the lack of armor of the intended target. Given that, a sharpened fence finial could be a very lethal weapon. We need fence control!

Sincerely,
RobT

I am fairly sure it's a fence finial, . we've discussed this particular one before in 2007:

Wow, very impressive detective work! Well, I know that it at least dates from 2007(the year of the post and 6 years before my joining date),& the country of origin is ebay, lol.
