Default chilean knives (?)

I recently find your site and greatly appreciate the opportunity to communicate with so many knowledgeable aficionados!

I saw these knives and was told were from the Chilean war with Peru. I think that the small one is a corvo. Can anyone help identify these knives or confirm if they are typical Chilean and from what era?

Thanks for any help.

the middle one is a corvo chileno, which is a much more distinctive form than the other two, which are more generic and thus i'd not venture a guess on those.

see Linky

p.s. - corvus in latin means 'raven', used specifically for the boarding ramp at the front of a punic era roman fighting galley with it's beak-like hook at the front. the corvo takes it's name from it's also beak-like appearance.

Thanks for the info, it is much appreciated. The corvo has some square markings on the blade. I've seen some with similar circular markings as well but not sure of the significance.

Do the other knives seem period correct? They were part of the same collection but unfortunately have no additional information on their origin. Any thoughts as to their authenticity?

Thanks again for your time and input.

Nice Chilean corvo just finished online. Pictures are from the vendor's listing. This one is probably mid-20th C. or a little earlier.

Ian.
